My Desktop.
I departed from my old theme of Aston Martins simply because this wallpaper was too good to resist.
I’ve also been forcing myself to keep my dock hidden, off the left-hand side of the screen. I don’t particularly care for it, because I can never tell if an IM is waiting for me, or if there is something in my inbox, or if there is something in NetNewsWire waiting for me.
However, it’s for all those same reasons that I also like it—it’s much easier to concentrate and I find myself less distracted. I also like the extra screen real estate. Much of this has been inspired by all the desktops that whiz by on my dashboard courtesy of Minimal Mac.
We’ll see how long it lasts, but I’m trying as best I can to hold out.
I have to say, I quite like having nothing but DateLine and my Incoming folder on my desktop. My Incoming folder is simply my “to be filed” bucket, and I try to make sure things don’t live there more than a week.
Mac users, do you keep your dock hidden? If so, on which side?

I currently keep my on the left on both my MacBook and iMac. I only hide it on the MacBook though to have extra space. I may be moving them both to the right side of the screen soon (for consistency) because I will be hooking a second display to my iMac, which may be on the left.

I had this error while installing VS 2010 Beta 2 today. Funny enough, im not surprised.
“The operation completed successfully”, I guess that IS an error that Microsoft needs to fix.

Had a very interesting weekend - our puppy (who now lives with Deb’s mom) got loose and was gone for 48 hours. These are some pics we took wednesday after we saw him for the first time. He was covered in mud and ticks, and hopefully should be back to normal  next week.

Sublime Text: The text editor you’ll fall in love with
Would you believe this is a Windows text editor?

I was a bit surprised too when I first saw this. One of the plugins I use in Visual Studio has an extension that lets you turn on the ‘1000 ft view’ of your code which comes in very handy. I still haven’t found a visual theme I like though yet.

Tumblr iPhone 1.1 Sneak Peek
Now that 1.1 has been submitted to the App Store, I figured everyone would like to know what’s coming in the new version. Here’s a preview!
Video posts. Choose from your camera roll or capture a new video right from the app (iPhone 3GS only).
Native editing. Need to add tags or update a post on the go? Just tap the ‘edit’ button on a post in the Dashboard to load it up in a native post editor.
Search. Supports searching across Tumblr, in your Dashboard or on just your posts.
Built-in web browser. No more losing your place when you tap a link in Dashboard. Now a web browser will pop up and let you investigate the interwebs.
Post upload status. Never wonder how long it’s going to take that Audio post to upload again.
Post geotagging. Even I’m not sure what this is for, but I’m sure that it’s going to be awesome.
Rewritten Dashboard tab (replaces the Sites tab). See all your posts from each of your blogs, including drafts and queues.
Rewritten Advanced Post Options. New support for Save as draft, Add to Queue, Publish on, Custom post URL’s, Send to Twitter and Ask a question.
Dashboard now only reloads on command. Not every time you tap the tab. Sorry about that one :P
Better quality photo posts. Photos are now sent with less compression.
New bookmarklet format for links. More info coming once 1.1 goes live.
Bug Fixes:

Fixed a bug where a post that has been saved for later can become corrupted.
Fixed a bug where Photo posts can cause crashes.
Fixed memory leaks.

There’s even more, but most of it is stuff you won’t see. Much of the core of the application was rewired, re-factored, re-plumbed, simplified and enhanced. The end result being a snappier, more flexible code base that’s ready for all the stuff coming in 1.2 and beyond.
We’ll let you know once it goes live on the App Store!

Im still very new at Tumblr, but pretty excited about this. It almost solves any questions I have had with the current version.
